Al Ahly has finalized its travel arrangements to Ghana for the upcoming encounter against Medeama SC next Saturday, in the fifth round of the CAF Champions League group stage.
The team’s travel plans were solidified following a goalless draw against CR Belouizdad on Friday, marking the fourth round of group stage matches.
Speaking in a televised statement, Mohamed El Garhy, a member of Al Ahly’s board of directors, stated, “The team will return from Algeria at 1 AM on Saturday, with plans to depart for Ghana next Tuesday in preparation for the Medeama match.”
El Garhy emphasized that the team displayed a commendable performance against CR Belouizdad, highlighting their sense of responsibility during the game.
Acknowledging the challenges posed by a prolonged absence from competitive matches, El Garhy noted that Al Ahly managed to maintain their spirit and accountability during the match against CR Belouizdad, a team known for its speed and enthusiastic fan base.
Al Ahly currently leads the group with 6 points, holding a one-point lead over Belouizdad in second place. Young Africans, in third place, also have 6 points, while Medeama SC trails behind with 4 points.
