Al Ahly secures decisive 4-1 victory over El Dakhlia in Nile league, chases Pyramids
The Red Devils dominated the game with goals from Wissam Abu Ali in the 35th and 41st minutes, and a brace from Imam Ashour in the 51st and 93rd minutes. El Dakhlia’s sole goal came from Oka in the 91st minute.
Early on, Imam Ashour unleashed a powerful strike from outside the penalty area, narrowly missing the crossbar in the sixth minute, signaling Al Ahly’s early offensive intent.
In the 12th minute, a corner kick for Al Ahly saw Marwan Attia fire a fierce shot towards goal, expertly saved by the goalkeeper, averting immediate danger.
The breakthrough came in the 34th minute when Hussein El Shahat penetrated El Dakhlia’s defense, delivering a precise cross for Wissam Abu Ali to calmly slot home the opener for Al Ahly.
Despite Al Ahly’s dominance, a disallowed goal in the 14th minute and missed chances by Ahmed Abdelkader showcased El Dakhlia’s resilience in defense.
The 42nd minute saw Wissam Abu Ali converting a penalty to double Al Ahly’s lead, followed closely by missed opportunities just inches wide of the post.
Al Ahly continued to press forward in the second half, with Imam Ashour’s header in the 51st minute extending their lead further.
The team’s coordinated attacks and strategic play highlighted their determination to secure three points.
El Dakhlia managed to pull one back in the dying moments of the game through Oka’s goal in the 91st minute, momentarily reducing the deficit.
However, any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Imam Ashour netted his second goal of the night in the 93rd minute, sealing a convincing victory for Al Ahly.
With this win, Al Ahly now stands at 54 points from 22 matches, securing second place in the Egyptian Premier League table. Meanwhile, El Dakhlia remains at the bottom with 19 points.
The match showcased Al Ahly’s offensive prowess and tactical superiority, reaffirming their status as contenders in the ongoing Nile League season as they continue to chase league leaders Pyramids FC.
