The first football team of Al-Ahly Club secured a crucial win against their hosts, Medeama of Ghana, with a solitary goal, edging them closer to reaching the quarter-finals of the ongoing CAF Champions League.
Al-Ahly now leads its group standings in the 2023-2024 CAF Champions League with 9 points, firmly positioned at the top.
This victory marks the 49th for Al-Ahly in terms of wins achieved during their African campaigns on the grounds of their opponents and competitors, excluding neutral venue triumphs.

Al-Ahly’s away victories in Africa throughout its history began with a double against Dynamos Harare in Zimbabwe during the 1983 African Champions League, followed by two goals against Hassania Agadir in the 1984 CAF Cup, and another win against Club Africain in Tunisia in the same competition in 1985.
Similarly, in the 1986 edition, they secured a comprehensive victory over Highlanders, the Swaziland champions.
In the 1988 African Cup of Champions Clubs, Al-Ahly clinched a three-goal win against Villa in Uganda.
