The injury occurred amid intense physical challenges, which saw Zizo struggling to maintain his usual pace and agility on the field.

Gaballah also revealed that Malian attacker, Aliou Dieng, suffered a hand contusion during the same encounter.

Both players are expected to undergo thorough medical examinations upon their return to Cairo to assess the extent of their injuries and determine the appropriate recovery protocols.

The club emphasized that their rehabilitation programs will be closely monitored to ensure both Zizo and Dieng regain full fitness ahead of the crucial second leg.

Al-Ahly fell 1-0 to Esperance in the first leg, leaving the team with a significant challenge ahead.

The return fixture is scheduled for next Saturday at the Cairo Stadium, where Al-Ahly must secure at least a two-goal victory to advance to the semi-finals of Africa’s premier club competition.

Coach strategies are likely to factor in the current fitness levels of Zizo and Dieng, as their presence could be pivotal in mounting a comeback against the Tunisian side.
