Al Ahly release Omar Kamal Abdel Wahed after Ceramica Cleopatra loan

Al Ahly have decided to release Omar Kamal Abdel Wahed after his return from loan, allowing the 32-year-old to choose the club he will join for the 2026-27 season.

The decision was reported by FilGoal on Sunday, 2 August 2026, and means Al Ahly will provide the player with his release clearance rather than determine his next destination. Omar Kamal is now free to decide where he will continue his career after leaving the Egyptian champions.

The defender spent the second half of last season on loan at Ceramica Cleopatra. He returned to Al Ahly at the end of that temporary spell, but the club have opted not to retain him for the forthcoming campaign.

Omar Kamal joined Al Ahly at the beginning of 2024 from Modern Sport. During his time with the club, he made 51 appearances, scoring six goals and supplying 11 assists.

His departure brings an end to his involvement with Al Ahly following a spell in which he contributed in both defensive and attacking roles. The club’s decision gives him the opportunity to negotiate his next move independently and select the team he will represent next season.

Omar Kamal began his professional career with Police Union before moving to Al Masry. He subsequently joined Al Assiouty, returned to Al Masry and then signed for Zamalek.

His career at Zamalek did not continue because the club were subject to a registration ban. Omar Kamal later joined Modern Sport, where his performances eventually led to his move to Al Ahly in early 2024.

The player’s record at Al Ahly includes six goals and 11 assists from his 51 matches for the club. His most recent period away from the team came during the second half of last season, when he represented Ceramica Cleopatra on loan.

Al Ahly have now formally decided to grant Omar Kamal his release, leaving the next step in his career in the player’s own hands. No new club has been identified in the report, and he will decide which side to join for the coming season.
