Egyptian giants Al Ahly have registered Ivorian talent Kazem Ibrahim in the youth team for the next football season.
The decision to sign and register the player comes after the prodigy born in 2007 impressed club officials during an exhibition match.
According to a source within Al Ahly who spoke to Kooora, the young forward had been training with the youth side for some time, but FIFA regulations initially prevented his registration.
“FIFA rules prohibit the international transfer of players under the age of 18 on professional terms,” the source explained while adding, “Although a contract was prepared earlier this year, Ibrahim couldn’t be registered until he received formal approval from the club’s football management.”
The breakthrough came after Ibrahim featured in a friendly match between the junior side and the first team on Friday at the Mokhtar El-Tetsh Stadium.
His performance drew high praise from interim first-team coach Emad El-Nahhas, leading to the final decision to register him with the junior team for the upcoming season.
Kazem Ibrahim must now prove his worth in the youth team in hopes of getting the chance to play for the Al Ahly first team.
