Al Ahly SC have reached an agreement with Swedish club IK Sirius to acquire Palestinian striker Wessam Abou Ali for 2 million Euros, payable in installments, AfricaSoccer.com can report
Contract details, including a resale clause, have been drafted and legally reviewed.
According to Tipsbladet, Abou Ali’s annual salary will be no less than 8 million Danish kroner (approximately US$1.17 million). The player is set to receive a signing bonus and is expected to sign a contract extending to 2028.
Al Ahly have sent a representative to Stockholm, and Abou Ali is scheduled to arrive in Egypt on Tuesday to finalize the deal.
The 24-year-old striker, who previously played for Aalborg BK and Vendsyssel FF in the Danish league, holds Palestinian citizenship and, if the contract is finalized, will be registered as a local player on Al Ahly’s list.
Abou Ali, whose football journey includes overcoming a heart attack setback, expressed his dream of wearing a Real Madrid shirt.
In the 2023 season, he played 16 matches, scoring 10 goals and providing additional assists in the Swedish Allsvenskan.
He is a former Danish youth international player, having made 8 appearances and scoring once across the U17, U18, and U19 levels.
