African champions Al Ahly are in the final stages of negotiations with Swedish club IK Sirius for Danish-Palestinian forward Wessam Abou Ali, AfricaSoccer.com can report

Reports are that the 25-year-old forward wants the move as he puts pressure on Sirius to let him move to the Egyptian giants.

Al Ahly are keen on landing the striker because of his Palestinian descent, which will allow him to be registered as a domestic player, per the registration rules in Egyptian football.

Nonetheless, Sirius Sporting Director Jonathan Ederstrom has refuted claims on the news. However, he admitted Abou Ali is attracting interest from a lot of clubs.

Abou Ali has a contract with the Swedish Allsvenskan side that runs until 2027.

Al Ahly is expected to pay an amount between US$1.6m to US$2m for the services of the Danish-Palestinian forward.

The Egyptian giants, prior to the start of this season, signed French forward Anthony Modeste, a former player of Stuttgart and Borussia Dortmund, to augment their attack.

Seemingly, Modeste has not lived to the expectations with Mahmoud Kahraba still being the main man upfront.

The former Denmark youth international player was outstanding in the 2023 season of the Swedish top division, where he netted 10 goals in 16 appearances for Sirius.
