Marcel Koller, the Swiss head coach of Al-Ahly’s first football team, has decided to reward his players with a break from collective training today after their triumph over Zamalek in the Egypt Cup final.
According to reports from “Al-Watan Sport,” Koller has granted the Al-Ahly players a 24-hour rest period following their Egypt Cup victory over Zamalek, with goals from Imam Ashour and Mohamed Magdy Afsha securing a 2-0 win.
The final was held at the First Park Stadium in Riyadh last Friday.
The Al-Ahly squad will resume training tomorrow, Sunday, after enjoying Saturday off, preparing for their upcoming match against Al-Ahly Bank, scheduled for next Tuesday evening at 9:30 PM.
The game is part of the 15th round of the Premier League.
Players who featured prominently in the Egypt Cup final will undergo recovery sessions, while the rest of the squad will continue with their regular training routines.
The team will conclude their training session next Monday at the Tetch Stadium in Al-Jazeera, in preparation for the upcoming match against Al-Ahly Bank.
Al-Ahly will face Al-Ahly Bank at 9:30 PM next Tuesday at the Cairo International Stadium, in one of the fixtures of the 15th round of the Egyptian Premier League.
