Egyptian giants Al Ahly have officially kicked off their preparations for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup by entering a closed training camp ahead of the tournament’s start on 14 June.
The club is focused on a strong showing in Group A, which features Inter Miami, Porto, and Palmeiras. Their first clash comes against MLS side Inter Miami in what promises to be a thrilling opener.
Al Ahly’s administrative team has wrapped up logistics for the campaign, including accommodation, transport, and training schedules. A coordination meeting held on Monday brought together FIFA delegates, the tournament’s organising committee, and the club’s media, marketing, and admin staff. Khaled Murtaghi, the club’s head of mission, was also in attendance.
Training sessions are now underway at Nova University Stadium as head coach Jose Riveiro sharpens his squad. A friendly match against Pachuca in Mexico served as an early test, where several players were rotated to fine-tune form and fitness.
Al Ahly aim to build momentum and push for continental pride as they gear up for their biggest challenge of the year.
