Portuguese tactician Jose Peseiro has drawn a striking distinction between Egyptian giants Al Ahly and Zamalek.
Speaking to Sport 1 in an interview, the experienced tactician stated that Al Ahly is a stable club, unlike Zamalek.
“Al-Ahly’s situation is different from Zamalek’s. It is a stable club in every way, while Zamalek has problems in every way,” Jose Peseiro, who has coached both clubs, said.
He continued, “When Al Ahly needs to renew a player’s contract, it is kept completely secret, while Zamalek is like a newspaper. If something happens the next day, it is released to the media.”
Despite his concerns about Zamalek, Jose Peseiro noted that he is sad he parted ways with the club.
“I’m sad that I won’t be continuing with Zamalek, because I wanted to complete my mission, and I was able to improve my performance. I thought I was capable of achieving championships in the new season. This is the first time this has happened to me and that I’ve had to leave after a short period of time, but it was an administrative decision in the end,” he said.
Zamalek parted ways with head coach Jose Peseiro earlier this month following a dismal run of results.
