Al Ahly: Imam Ashour dropped for technical reasons, not injury

Al Ahly have confirmed that midfielder Imam Ashour has been left out of recent matches for technical reasons and is not carrying an injury.

The club said on its official website that Ashour continues to train normally with the squad. His omission is therefore a decision based solely on footballing considerations.

Houcine Ammouta has left Ashour out of the squad for a third consecutive match, with Al Ahly facing Al Mokawloon Al Arab in the Capital Cup.

Ashour previously missed Al Ahly’s matches against Uganda’s Kitara in the Confederation Cup and Modern Sport in the Egyptian Premier League. The Capital Cup fixture against Al Mokawloon Al Arab is the third game in succession for which he has not been selected.

The midfielder has made four appearances for Al Ahly this season. He has yet to score or provide an assist.
