Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly have held an emergency meeting with coach Marcel Koller following the club’s recent dip form.

The meeting was prompted by the club’s narrow win over Al Hilal in the CAF Champions League quarterfinals first leg clash held at the Cairo International Stadium.

The club’s dismal run includes three consecutive losses in the Egyptian League Cup and Premier League at large.

In response to the club’s dismal performance, the president of Al Ahly Mahmoud El Khalib together with sporting director Mohamed Ramadan and his deputy Mohamed Shawky engaged coach Marcel Koller

The leadership of the club inquired about the recent decline in performance as well as the team results

Acknowledging the supporters’ dissatisfaction, the president of the club charged the Swiss traier to uplift performance as the season nears an end.

The leader of the club also expressed his displeasure about the rest period given to players, a decision he sees as unjustified, especially for players who do not participate in matches on a regular basis.

Al Ahly will travel to Mauritania to face Al Hilal on the return of the Champions League quarterfinals.
