In a recent revelation, sports journalist Mohamed Shabana disclosed that the planning committee at Al Ahly Club has formally requested the departure of a key member of the coaching staff for the first football team led by Marcel Koller.
Shabana, speaking in radio statements on Thursday, conveyed that the committee, in its report to Al Ahly President Mahmoud El Khatib, recommended expressing gratitude to Argentine Carlos Berniger, an assistant to Koller in the coaching staff.
“The committee has several reasons for this decision, foremost among them is his inability to make a significant impact on the development of the players, which is his primary task since his appointment.
Additionally, it is related to the high salary he receives in dollars,” Shabana elaborated.
In the same context, Shabana explained that there is a trend towards approving the request of Swiss coach Marcel Koller to bring in fresh perspectives, especially given the numerous tournaments the club is participating in.
The Red Devils are gearing up to face Modern Future in the final of the Egyptian Super Cup at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
The Ahly vs. Future match is set to kick off at 7:00 PM Cairo time and 8:00 PM Saudi time on Thursday, December 28th.
As Al Ahly pursues victory, changes in the coaching staff are being considered to enhance the team’s performance in upcoming competitions.
