Renowned sports presenter Mohamed Shabana has emphasized that Al Ahly will not relinquish Emam Ashour during the current phase, regardless of tempting offers from Gulf or European clubs.
Shabana highlighted that the club will not part with the player, whether for European professionalism or any other reason, until the conclusion of the current season.
Shabana: Al Ahly Stands Firm on Emam Ashour… Astonished by Negotiations for a New Goalkeeper
Speaking on his program “Box to Box,” Shabana stated, “Al Ahly secured Emam Ashour for $3 million, and they will not let him go unless they receive £10 million.”
He added, “Al Ahly aims to close discussions about Emam Ashour’s future and his European professionalism, especially after recent hours witnessed increased talks about external offers.”
Expressing his surprise, Shabana commented, “I am astonished by the idea of Al Ahly seeking a new goalkeeper and letting go of Ali Lotfy.
It was done according to a certain vision, and now, after El Shenawy’s injury, the club is in search of a new goalkeeper.”
He continued, “When Al Ahly decided to sell Ali Lotfy, could they have foreseen the possibility of Mohamed El Shenawy’s severe injury and his absence for an extended period?
As soon as the latter’s injury was announced, numerous reports circulated about the club negotiating with other goalkeepers like Mohamed Abu Jabal and Mohamed Bassam.
Some even suggested the possibility of Ali Lotfy returning to the team.”
