Al Ahly has finalised its preliminary squad list for the upcoming 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States from June 15 to July 13.
The Egyptian giants will compete in Group A alongside Inter Miami (USA), Palmeiras (Brazil), and FC Porto (Portugal).
The Red Devils initially registered 55 players back in March. This list must be trimmed to a maximum of 35 by June 10, with only 26 players eligible for selection per match during the tournament.
According to reports, the club’s management has opted to take nearly all players from the extended list to the U.S., with the exception of three individuals.
Goalkeeper Hamza Alaa, whose contract has expired, midfielder Akram Tawfik, who has transferred to Al Shamal in Qatar, and veteran defender Rami Rabia, who is yet to renew his contract, will not travel.
However, a provisional 30-man shortlist for the tournament includes:
Goalkeepers: Mohamed El-Shenawy, Mostafa Shobeir, Mohamed Seha
Defenders: Omar Kamal, Mohamed Hany, Yasser Ibrahim, Ashraf Dari, Karim El-Debis, Yahya Attia Allah, Ali Maaloul, Mostafa El-Ash
Midfielders: Ahmed Nabil Kouka, Marawan Attia, Amr El-Sulaya, Omar El-Saey, Imam Ashour, Mohamed Magdy “Afsha”, Hamdi Fathi, Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan, Aliou Dieng
Forwards: Taher Mohamed Taher, Mohamed Abdullah, Ahmed Reda, Ashraf Ben Sharqi, Hussein El Shahat, Jenik Gardischer, Wessam Abu Ali, Ahmed Mostafa “Zizo”, Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet”, Ahmed Abdelkader
However, there are uncertainties surrounding the final selection. Ahmed Abdelkader may be left out due to an injury sustained while playing for Qatar SC.
Additionally, Malian midfielder Aliou Dieng is reportedly awaiting a potential transfer offer.
The inclusion of other players such as Khaled Abdel-Fattah and Karim Nedved remains undecided, while backup goalkeeper Mustafa Makhlouf will travel with the team and could be registered if injuries occur during the tournament.
