Al Ahly’s Legal Committee has wrapped up preparations for a fresh appeal in the ongoing saga over their league clash with Zamalek, set to be filed with the Egyptian Football Association’s Appeals Committee within hours.
The drama stems from a match slated for March 11th during the Egyptian Premier League’s crowning stage, which the Red Devils skipped to protest the absence of foreign referees.
An Al Ahly insider shared with Kooora that the club is gearing up to unveil new evidence at next week’s hearing, building on their original grievance.
“The new documents that will be added include the letter Al-Ahly received from the Egyptian Clubs Association after amending the decisions for the summit match, which clearly stated that the request for foreign referees had not been met,” the insider said.
“The new documents will support Al-Ahly’s position in its request to play the summit match, as it did not withdraw from the first match, but rather objected to the failure to implement its request to bring in foreign referees.”
