Al Ahly eyes Danish-Palestinian striker Yousef Salech in potential USD 2.5 million deal
Al Ahly SC, Egypt’s most decorated football club, is reportedly eyeing Danish-Palestinian striker Yousef Salech, currently playing for Swedish club IK Sirius according to grapevine sources.
The Cairo giants are keen to bolster their attacking options and have earmarked between USD 2 million and USD 2.5 million for Salech, a player whose potential has caught the club’s attention.
Salech, who has already proven his worth in Sweden with 11 goals in 20 games, joined Sirius as a replacement for Wessam Abou Ali, who made a successful move to Al Ahly earlier this year.
His previous stints include time at Danish clubs Hellerup IK, HB Köge, and Belgian side SK Beveren, making a potential move to Al Ahly, his first experience outside Europe.
One significant advantage for Al Ahly in signing Salech is his Palestinian descent, which would allow the club to register him as a domestic player under Egyptian Premier League rules.
This strategic move would provide essential depth to Al Ahly’s forward line, which currently relies on Abou Ali and Mahmoud Kahraba.
The Reds’ interest in Salech highlights their ambition to continue building a formidable squad capable of competing at the highest levels.
