The Al Ahly football team is diligently pursuing its daily training sessions at El Tetsh Stadium this Saturday, gearing up for upcoming commitments after returning to training last Thursday following a three-day break post their return from the UAE camp last Sunday.
Preparations are underway for Al Ahly’s match against Belouizdad on February 16th in Algeria, a crucial encounter in the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
Notably, Al Ahly’s international players did not participate in this camp due to their involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Additionally, Hamza Alaa and Karim Eldib missed out as they were part of the national Olympic team in a friendly tournament held in Dubai last month.
The current training sessions of Al Ahly exclude their international players, who are granted an additional week of rest.
Meanwhile, South African Percy Tau and Malian Aliou Dieng are currently participating in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations after qualifying for the quarterfinals.
The last encounter between Al Ahly and Belouizdad ended in a goalless draw on December 8th, 2023, at the Borg El Arab Stadium during the third round of the CAF Champions League group stage.
At the top of Group D in the CAF Champions League, Al Ahly has accumulated 5 points, securing a 3-0 victory against Medeama and drawing with both Young Africans and Belouizdad.
Ghana’s Medeama follows closely with 4 points, while Belouizdad and Young Africans are tied with 4 points each, with the Tanzanian side at the bottom of the group with 2 points.
