Swiss coach Marcel Kolér has formally requested the Al-Ahly club’s administration to sever ties with Mahmoud Metwally, the team’s defender.
Kolér’s request stems from Metwally’s recurrent injuries and his recent absence from any matches.
Having reviewed the medical report on Metwally following his return to training, Kolér discovered that the player is currently unfit for participation due to a chronic and recurring muscle injury.
Kolér held discussions with the planning committee at Al-Ahly, emphasizing the urgency of acquiring a new defender during the current transfer window.
He explicitly stated that Mahmoud Metwally is no longer in his plans for the team.
Earlier in the current winter transfer window, Mahmoud Metwally was close to leaving Al-Ahly in a deal involving Omar Kamal Abdelwahid.
However, the management of Future Club rejected Metwally’s inclusion in the deal and instead requested the inclusion of three youth team players.
