The first football team of Al Ahly Club has officially advanced to the quarter-finals of the African Champions League ahead of the final matchday of the group stage.
Al Ahly’s qualification was secured after Young Africans, the Tanzanian team, defeated their Algerian guests, CR Belouizdad, by four goals to nil on Saturday evening in the fifth round of Group D matches in the Champions League.
With this result, Al Ahly secures advancement to the quarter-finals, awaiting the outcome of their match against Young Africans in the final round on March 2nd at Cairo International Stadium, which will determine the group winner.
Currently, Al Ahly tops Group D with 9 points, while Young Africans hold 8 points, securing their qualification as well, with a superior head-to-head goal difference against CR Belouizdad.
