Al Ahly’s squad is nearly back to full strength as they gear up to take on Sudan’s Al-Hilal in the CAF Champions League quarter-final first leg next Tuesday.
With only two players sidelined, the Egyptian giants are poised for a strong showing.
An insider from Al Ahly’s medical staff revealed to Kooora on Friday that Karim Fouad and Reda Selim remain the only absentees.
“Reda Selim will need at least five months to return to training, having undergone knee cartilage surgery a month ago,” the source said, adding, “Karim Fouad will return to training in two weeks, after completing his rehabilitation program to recover from his cruciate ligament injury.”
Meanwhile, Yasser Ibrahim and Amr El-Sulaya are raring to go against Al-Hilal. Both shook off minor knocks a hamstring tweak for Ibrahim and calf discomfort for El-Sulaya from a friendly against Zed FC, and they’re now at Swiss coach Marcel Koller’s disposal.
Taher Mohamed, fully fit after training, is also in the mix, though he’s been sidelined since December and needs time to sharpen up.
