Al Ahly boosted by key returns before Pyramids clash
Al Ahly fans had something to cheer about on Friday as the team completed their final training session ahead of Saturday’s Egyptian Premier League meeting with Pyramids FC.
The Red Devils were lifted by the return of three important players who had been battling fitness concerns.
A special source revealed to Kooora that Emam Ashour fully took part in group training, including the physical drills, and is now ready for selection. Spanish coach Jose Riveiro will make the final call on his involvement in the big game. Mohamed Ali Ben Ramadan was also back in action after missing the previous session with a hamstring complaint, while Taher Mohamed Taher trained normally following a scare with muscle pain.
The session also welcomed Marwan Attia, who featured for the first time since undergoing hernia surgery in July. His return was limited and without contact, making his chances of facing Pyramids slim, though he is eager to rejoin the national team camp starting next week.
Al Ahly enter the tie with five points from three matches, the same tally Pyramids carry after four rounds.
