Al Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy says his outfit is bent on winning titles as they gear up for the crucial CAF Champions League clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
The South Africa outfit will play host to the Egyptian powerhouse in the first leg of the semifinals on Saturday.
Speaking ahead of the game, El-Shenawy declared his outfit readiness for the much-anticipated clash, saying his outfit is bent on winning titles.
“The players are well prepared for the match, which will be difficult against a strong opponent. We are focused on giving our best performance tomorrow, to achieve a positive result.”
“The players have a strong desire to write new history and win the title for the third time in a row. We studied Sundowns well and are very focused on the match.”
“Al Ahly is the second most successful club in the world (after Real Madrid) in continental titles. We respect all our competitors and are highly motivated to achieve new achievements. There is no psychological barrier for any competitor, as all teams know how difficult it is to face Al Ahly. What matters to us is winning titles,”
El Shenawy continued. “All teams are developing, and Sundowns have added distinguished players and held training camps abroad, which has strengthened their results in recent years.”
He added, “But Al Ahly is the biggest team, as it competes constantly and seeks a sixth final and a third consecutive title in the Champions League”
