Al Ahly Benghazi make $1m offer for Zamalek’s Ahmed Foutouh

Ahmed Foutouh’s agent says Al Ahly Benghazi have submitted a new $1m bid to Zamalek for the transfer of the player.

Agent Samir Salah said the Libyan club initially offered $500,000 to sign Foutouh, but Zamalek requested an increase to $700,000.

“Al Ahly Benghazi sent an offer to Zamalek to sign Ahmed Foutouh for $500,000, but Zamalek asked for the offer to be raised to $700,000,” Salah said on MBC Masr 2.

He added that the Libyan club subsequently increased its proposal to $700,000, but Zamalek rejected that offer and demanded $1m for the player.

“Al Ahly Benghazi submitted a new offer for $1m and are waiting for Zamalek’s response,” Salah said.

The latest proposal represents the figure Zamalek requested before they would consider allowing Foutouh to leave on a permanent transfer. The club has yet to give its official response to the new bid, according to the player’s agent.

Salah also revealed that Al Ahly Benghazi had proposed taking Foutouh on loan for two seasons for $500,000 if Zamalek were unwilling to sell him.

“Al Ahly Benghazi also offered Zamalek the chance to loan Foutouh for two seasons for $500,000 if the club does not want to sell him,” he said.

Under that arrangement, Foutouh would extend his Zamalek contract by three seasons before spending two seasons with the Libyan club and then returning to Zamalek.

“If Zamalek agree to loan Foutouh, he will renew his contract for three seasons, play for two seasons with Al Ahly Benghazi and then return to Zamalek,” Salah said.

The agent said Foutouh was waiting for Zamalek to decide whether to accept either the permanent-transfer or loan proposal.

“Foutouh is waiting for Zamalek’s response. If Al Ahly Benghazi’s offer is rejected, the player remains committed to Zamalek until the end of his contract,” Salah added.

He said neither he nor the player knew the club’s position at this stage.

“We are waiting for Zamalek’s official response, whether it is to approve the sale of Ahmed Foutouh or his loan move. We do not know the club’s position yet,” Salah said.
