Ajax eye move for Anderlecht playmaker Mario Stroeykens

Ajax are being linked with a move for Belgian-DR Congo attacking midfielder Mario Stroeykens from RSC Anderlecht as the Eredivisie side assess options to strengthen their creative department.

Stroeykens, 21, is a right-footed attacking midfielder who has emerged from Anderlechts ranks to establish himself with the Belgian club, where he currently wears the No 29 shirt.

The Zellik-born playmaker, who stands at 1.77m, has seen his market value fluctuate in recent seasons, with the most recent assessment placing him at 4.5m as of early June 2026.

Stroeykens has spent his entire senior career within the Anderlecht structure, progressing from the youth setup to RSCA Futures before stepping up to the first team in 2021.

The rumoured interest would represent a switch from the Belgian Jupiler Pro League to the Dutch Eredivisie, with Ajax tracking a player whose development has been closely followed since his teenage years.

No agreement has been reached and the situation remains at the level of interest from Ajax in the Anderlecht midfielder.
