Ajax eye move for Al Ahly winger Mohamed Abdallah in Eredivisie swoop rumor
Ajax are being linked with a move for Egyptian right winger Mohamed Abdallah from Al Ahly as the Dutch club explore attacking options ahead of the new season.
Abdallah, 20, is a left-footed right winger who has risen through Al Ahlys ranks and currently plays for the Cairo giants first team. Born in El Sharkia and standing at 1.80m, he has developed a reputation as a promising wide attacker in the Egyptian Premier League.
The speculation comes after a period of rapid progression in Abdallahs value, which climbed from 100,000 in October 2024 to 250,000 by mid-2025 while at Al Ahly, before being assessed at 200,000 in May 2026 during a stint with Cleopatra FC.
Abdallahs pathway has included a spell with Al Ahlys U19 side before his promotion to the senior squad in August 2024, underlining his status as one of the clubs emerging prospects. His progress has been monitored domestically, and interest from Ajax would represent a potential step into the Eredivisie.
The winger spent part of the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Cleopatra FC, moving there in January 2026 before returning to Al Ahly at the end of the season in June. That experience has given him senior minutes in Egypts top flight with two of the countrys Premier League clubs.
No transfer agreement has been reached between Al Ahly and Ajax, and Abdallah remains an Al Ahly player while the rumour links him with a possible switch to the Dutch side.
