Aimen Moueffek switches to Cadiz in season-long loan from Saint-Etienne

Moroccan-French midfielder Aimen Moueffek has joined Cadiz CF from Saint-Etienne on loan until 30 June 2027, completing a move that takes the 25-year-old from France’s Ligue 2 to Spain’s second tier.

Moueffek, who plays in central midfield, joined Cadiz on 31 August 2026. The transfer gives him a new club in LaLiga2 after beginning the 2026-27 campaign with Saint-Etienne, where he had not made an appearance in the opening three possible Ligue 2 matches.

His move to Spain marks a temporary departure from the club where he has spent almost all of his senior career. Moueffek moved from Saint-Etienne B into the first-team setup in July 2020, having previously progressed through the club’s under-19 and under-17 teams.

He first joined Saint-Etienne’s youth structure from Cascol Jugend in 2012, before continuing through the academy ranks. That long association with the French club now pauses during his spell with Cadiz, with the transfer record confirming that he is due to return to Saint-Etienne at the end of the loan.

Moueffek was born in Vienne, France, on 9 April 2001 and holds Moroccan and French nationality. He is listed at 1.79 metres tall and favours his right foot.

Cadiz’s new midfielder arrives with the club competing in LaLiga2, while Saint-Etienne remain in Ligue 2. The switch therefore takes Moueffek into a different domestic competition and a new footballing environment for the 2026-27 season.

His contract arrangement with Cadiz runs through 30 June 2027, when the loan is scheduled to end and he is set to return to Saint-Etienne. No permanent transfer fee has been specified for the move.

Moueffek’s previous senior transfer came when he stepped up from Saint-Etienne B to the first team in 2020. Before that promotion, he had spent eight years within the club’s youth system after arriving from Cascol Jugend.

The central midfielder has now completed his temporary move to Cadiz, joining the Spanish club from Saint-Etienne on loan until the end of June 2027.
