Kooora asked artificial intelligence to predict the outcome of the “Derby of Anger” between Milan and Inter Milan in the 10th round of Serie A, with the match scheduled for Saturday, 31 October 2026 at San Siro.
The AI forecast either a 1-1 draw or a narrow 2-1 victory for Inter Milan. Its specific prediction, however, was for the sides to share the points after a 1-1 draw.
Kooora said the system has no emotions or feelings and presented its answers without editorial intervention. It also noted that all responses, including any possible linguistic or factual errors, were reproduced as provided by the AI.
The prediction was based on four main factors.
Why a draw is expected
The first was the competitive balance and caution usually associated with derby matches. According to the AI, these fixtures often produce intense contests and careful approaches regardless of the teams’ positions in the table. When the two sides are closely matched, it argued, the result is often a draw.
Inter Milan enter the game at the top of the Serie A standings, but the club are dealing with significant absences. Their leading scorer and captain, Argentina forward Lautaro Martinez, is unavailable because of a muscular injury, while there are also several defensive absences.
The AI suggested those problems could make it difficult for Inter Milan to take control of the match or secure victory comfortably.
Milan, meanwhile, are expected to benefit from the return of some important first-team players. Luka Modric and Christian Pulisic, for example, were rested for the previous fixture and are expected to be available again.
Their return could strengthen Milan’s midfield and help the team compete with Inter Milan’s influential central area, led by Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella.
The final factor identified was the nature of San Siro. Although the stadium is officially home to both clubs, the AI said the support and pressure from the crowd would be divided relatively evenly.
That, it argued, reduces the usual advantage associated with playing at home and increases the likelihood of either a share of the points or a match decided by a small margin.
On that basis, the AI’s preferred outcome remains a 1-1 draw, while a 2-1 Inter Milan win was listed as the alternative result.
