Ahmed Soliman, a member of the board of directors of Zamalek Club and former Egyptian football star, emphasized the necessity for the White Knights to have multiple players in each position as a championship-seeking club consistently aiming to clinch titles.
In statements made on the program “Ya Masa’a Al-Anwar” with Medhat Shalaby on MBC channel, the Zamalek board member stated, “The contract renewal negotiations for Mahmoud Shikabala and Youssef Obama will be the responsibility of Hussein Labib, the president of Zamalek Club, who will personally handle this matter to settle it as soon as possible.”
The former coach of the Egyptian national team under Hassan Shehata’s staff stressed that renewing contracts for Shikabala and Obama is a natural course of action as they are products of the club and it is natural for them to continue with the team in the upcoming period.
Ahmed Soliman added, “The relationship between Al Ahly and Zamalek has been ongoing for years, and I hope this good relationship continues in the coming period because they are the backbone of Egyptian sports.”
