Renowned sports commentator Ahmed Shobier has issued a stern warning to the Egyptian Football Association, led by Jamal Al-Am, regarding the handling of the penalty clause in the contract of former national team coach, Portuguese Roy Vitoria.
Shobier emphasized the necessity of adhering to the contract rather than risking sanctions from the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
Speaking on his program “With Shobier,” broadcasted on Radio On Sport FM, Shobier stated, “South African Pitso Mosimane, former coach of Al Ahly Jeddah, recently obtained a ruling from FIFA due to breaches of his contract.”
He continued, “It is imperative to fulfill the penalty clause in Vitoria’s contract to avoid FIFA sanctions and to protect the reputation of the Egyptian Football Association within FIFA.”
Roy Vitoria, the former head coach of the Egyptian national team, had a penalty clause equivalent to three months’ salary.
According to statements from Jamal Al-Am, president of the Football Association, Vitoria was earning €183,000 monthly, with his coaching staff receiving €40,000.
It is essential to settle these dues promptly to avert potential penalties.
It is worth noting that Hossam Hassan assumed the coaching reins of the Egyptian national team following the dismissal of Portuguese coach Roy Vitoria, who was relieved of his duties after Egypt’s early exit from the knockout stage of the recent Africa Cup of Nations held in Ivory Coast.
