Ahmed Shobier, former goalkeeper for Al Ahly and current media personality, has candidly revealed his response to his son Mustafa’s error during the Egyptian Super Cup Champions final against Future.
Mustafa Shobier made a crucial mistake leading to Future’s opening goal, with Omar El-Said scoring against Al Ahly during the match held in the United Arab Emirates.
Speaking on the “Ma Khairy” program on Al-Mehwar channel, Shobier shared, “In Al Ahly’s matches, my wife and I are the only ones watching.
When Mustafa is playing, the situation becomes more challenging for his mother because he is her project.
She took him to Al Ahly without my knowledge.”
“I am emotionally charged internally. The day he made the mistake was the most emotional time in my life.
I scolded him; he played a fantastic game.
I know the pressure on him, and people are waiting for a mistake from him.
I scolded him strongly.
It’s a mistake that can happen to any goalkeeper.
I was emotional and worried about Ahly losing. After the second goal, I changed my clothes and didn’t finish watching the match.”
Continuing, Shobier stated, “If Mustafa wasn’t my son, I would wish he were my son.
I have never gone to watch Mustafa in training.
Some find it hard to believe.
When I say Mustafa follows a special diet, some don’t believe it.”
“After this match, the first thing I said to him was congratulations.
He has an advantage in not justifying his mistakes, and he is better than me in all aspects.”
Al Ahly defeated Future 4-2, securing the Egyptian Super Cup for the fourteenth time in their history and the third consecutive win.
