Ahmed Mostafa Zizo has rubbished reports claiming his Al Ahly contract is worth EGP 500 million, calling the figure “far from reality” and insisting the truth is much less.

In his first major remarks since joining Al Ahly, the winger set the record straight on the end of his time at Zamalek, denying any clash with the planning committee but blaming late action on his renewal talks. “They thought it was just about money,” he explained.

Zizo revealed he had already secured a US visa to travel for Club World Cup talks with clubs like Al Ain, noting visa delays had to be accounted for early.

He said his exclusion from the Stellenbosch clash signalled the end of his Zamalek chapter, especially after his image was reportedly torn up at the club. “That told me everything,” he said.

Despite receiving bigger offers, including from Zamalek, Zizo opted for Al Ahly. Now, with eyes set on silverware, he’s eager to shine in the Club World Cup and make a strong impression under coach Jose Riveiro.
