Ahmed Mahmoud joins Enppi on a five-year deal after leaving Zamalek

Ahmed Mahmoud has completed his move to Enppi, signing a five-year contract with the club as a free agent after ending his time at Zamalek.

The 23-year-old right-back agreed terms with Enppi following his departure from the Cairo club, where he had been part of the first-team setup since being promoted in 2023.

FilGoal.com understands that Mahmoud’s contract is for five seasons. His transfer follows Zamalek’s decision to terminate the agreements of both Mahmoud and Seif Gaafar for technical reasons.

Mahmoud spent last season on loan at Al Ittihad Al Sakandary. Before that, he had loan spells with Pharco and El Gouna, gaining experience away from Zamalek after stepping up to senior football.

Across his professional career, Mahmoud has made 45 appearances in all competitions. He has scored once and provided three assists.

His move gives Enppi another option at right-back ahead of the new season. The club will begin its campaign against Al Ahly on 22 August, when the two sides meet in the opening round.

Enppi have so far announced only one other signing, with Mostafa Fawzy joining from WE.

Mahmoud’s arrival comes after a period in which his first-team opportunities at Zamalek were limited. He was promoted to the senior squad in 2023 but subsequently continued his development through loan moves, first to El Gouna and Pharco before spending the previous season with Al Ittihad Al Sakandary.

The defender now moves permanently to Enppi on a free transfer, with the club securing his services on a long-term contract before the start of the new campaign. His experience of playing for three clubs away from Zamalek leaves him with 45 senior appearances to his name, as well as one goal and three assists.

Enppi’s opening fixture against Al Ahly on 22 August will be the first opportunity for Mahmoud to feature for his new club in the new season. The signing is also the second confirmed addition to Enppi’s squad, following the arrival of Fawzy from WE.

Zamalek had previously informed both Mahmoud and Gaafar that their contracts would be terminated on technical grounds. Mahmoud’s departure has now been followed by a move to Enppi, where he has committed his future until the end of the five-season agreement.
