Tensions are rising at Zamalek as midfielder Ahmed Hamdi grows frustrated with the club’s refusal to approve his trip to Germany for a medical check-up.
Hamdi, who tore his cruciate ligament in the African Confederation Cup final against Morocco’s RS Berkane on 19 May 2024, believes it’s vital to see his personal doctor before returning to full training. He underwent surgery after the match and has been recovering since.
Though he traveled to the UAE in March with physiotherapist Sameh El Sayed for tests that showed promising progress, the 27-year-old remains adamant that final assessments must be done by his German specialist.
Zamalek, however, denied his request, offering him alternatives in Qatar or the UAE instead. The disagreement prompted Hamdi to post a message on his personal account saying, “Hassabi Allah wa Na’im al-Wakeel”, a clear signal of his anger.
Club sources told Kooora the situation remains unresolved, and the midfielder’s growing impatience could add more pressure on the team’s already strained medical and administrative setup.
