Zamalek midfielder Ahmed Hamdi has been given the green light to return to action after undergoing medical checks in Germany.
The tests, supervised by a German specialist, confirmed he has fully recovered from the injury he picked up in the second leg of the Confederation Cup final last season.
Hamdi returned to Cairo with Dr. Mohamed Osama, the club’s head of the medical team, after completing his assessments abroad. Sources close to the club told Kooora that the evaluations confirmed he is now fit and could rejoin competitive matches soon.
However, Hamdi’s return to the pitch comes at a tense time. Zamalek’s board has decided to refer the player to an internal investigation following controversial posts on his social media accounts. One sarcastic post in particular drew attention, where he joked about receiving €1700 in his account.
In an official statement, Zamalek confirmed disciplinary action is underway and that the board will review the investigation’s outcome before announcing their final decision regarding the player’s future.
