The coaching staff of Ahly has made a strategic decision to elevate 10 youth players to the first team, compensating for numerical shortages due to several players joining national teams.
Among the promoted youth players participating in the team’s training are: Youssef Abdelhafiz, Ahmed Aabdeen, Abdelrahman Khaled, Islam Abdullah, Abdelrahman Abdelgwad, Mazen Osama, Sameer Mohamed, Moataz Mohamed, Mostafa Abo Elkhair, and Ahmed Taema.
Noteworthy is the engagement of goalkeepers Hazem Gamal and Tarek Hassan in the team’s training sessions since the first day of the preparation period, following the rest period granted by the coaching staff upon their return from the UAE.
Marcel Koller, the head coach, conducted a motivational lecture for the players within the Teftaht Al-Asmar (The Black Castle) training ground, emphasizing the training program and discussing the upcoming phase in general.
The players underwent rigorous physical exercises before delving into technical aspects during ball exercises, which included goalkeepers’ participation in drills.
The quartet of Mostafa Shawky, Mostafa Mekhlouf, Hazem Gamal, and Tarek Hassan carried out their training under the supervision of Michel Yankon, the goalkeeping coach.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Abdelkader and Reda Slim continued their personalized programs under the watchful eyes of the medical staff during the team’s training.
This initiative, spearheaded by the coaching staff, not only fortifies the team but also aligns with Ahly’s commitment to nurturing young talent, offering them invaluable exposure to the first-team environment.
