Mahmoud El-Khatib, the president of Al Ahly Club, has stepped in to resolve the dispute between Mahmoud Abdel-Moneim “Kahraba,” the team’s forward, and Swiss coach Marcel Koller, ahead of the Egypt Cup final against Zamalek on March 8th in Saudi Arabia.
A source within Al Ahly Club, speaking to “Al Masry Al Youm,” revealed that El-Khatib intervened and spoke with Koller and Kahraba to resolve the crisis arising from the scheduling conflict with his sister’s wedding.
El-Khatib’s intervention aimed to prevent a repeat of the situation involving Ahmed Abdel-Qader, who fell out of favor with the Swiss coach.
Koller has assured full commitment from Kahraba and pledged to give his utmost in team training sessions.
The source confirmed that Kahraba is on the verge of being included in the squad traveling to Saudi Arabia next Wednesday.
In other developments, Ahly players who participated in yesterday’s match against Young Africans of Tanzania engaged in recovery training sessions this morning to alleviate muscle fatigue.
Meanwhile, the rest of the players focused on physical conditioning drills and ball work, with the coaching staff emphasizing tactical aspects during the session.
Mohamed El-Shennawy, the team captain, continued his rehabilitation program, undertaking running exercises around the pitch and completing specific exercises under the supervision of the club’s medical staff.
