Several players from Al Ahly have recently showcased remarkable performances under the guidance of Swiss coach Marcel Koller.

The Cairo-based team not only clinched the Egyptian Super Cup but also secured a bronze medal at the FIFA Club World Cup in the ongoing season.

Sources from the football scene indicate that Portuguese coach Rui Vitoria, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, is currently deliberating between Abdullah El Said of Pyramids and Hussein El Shahat of Al Ahly for the final squad in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Vitoria is reportedly leaning towards the Ahly star due to his outstanding recent performances and notable improvement under the tutelage of coach Marcel Koller.

El Shahat’s effective contributions to Al Ahly’s triumphs further strengthen his case for inclusion in the national team.

The announcement of the final national team roster is expected to be made tomorrow, Saturday.

Following the announcement, Coach Vitoria will hold a press conference at the Egyptian Football Association headquarters.

This unexpected decision reflects the dynamic nature of football, where recent form and contributions to a team’s success play a pivotal role in national team selections.

The competition for spots in Egypt’s AFCON squad highlights the depth of talent in the Egyptian football scene, setting the stage for an exciting tournament in Ivory Coast.
