Several players from Al Ahly’s first football team have lodged a collective complaint against Andres Andoya, the team’s fitness planner under Marcel Koller’s coaching staff, due to muscle injuries.
A source within Al Ahly revealed that some players are expressing frustration over the continuous muscle injuries they are facing, attributing them to the extensive physical loads imposed by Andoya during training sessions.
The source clarified that the players addressed their complaints to Ahmed Gaballah, the head of the medical staff, citing the high incidence of injuries.
The Ahly doctor attributed multiple injuries to the excessive physical strain during recent training periods.
Urgent Meeting by Koller to Resolve Injury Crisis
Marcelo Koller convened a meeting involving the fitness team, led by Andoya and Mohamed El-Shehie, the fitness coach, in the presence of the medical staff to address the muscular injury crisis within the team.
The latest muscular injury victim at Ahly was Palestinian striker Wisam Abu Ali, who had to leave training last Saturday due to muscle pain in the posterior area, jeopardizing his participation in the Egypt Cup final.
