An unforeseen technical glitch led to the return of the Ahly football team’s plane to Cairo International Airport just moments after takeoff, as it was en route to Ghana.
According to a source within Ahly, speaking to Kooora, the team’s aircraft had indeed commenced its journey but had to return due to a technical issue, which was promptly rectified.
The source indicated that the team’s delegation patiently awaited confirmation of the aircraft’s technical readiness before resuming its journey towards Ghana.
Following the repair of the technical fault, Ahly’s plane resumed its journey from Cairo Airport bound for Ghana.
Yesterday, Ahly conducted their training session at El Tetsh Stadium, where players engaged in varied physical exercises under the supervision of fitness coach Andreas Andoya.
Marcel Koller, the head coach, concluded the training session with a rigorous scrimmage involving all participating players.
Currently topping Group Four with 6 points, Ahly’s recent draw against CR Belouizdad in Algeria did little to impede their standing.
Next on Ahly’s agenda is a face-off against Mazembe in Ghana next Friday, marking the fifth round of the African Champions League.
Their group stage fixtures will conclude with a match against Young Africans from Tanzania.
