Two players, Mahmoud Kahraba and Anthony Modeste, have requested an exemption from traveling with the first football team of Al-Ahly Club to Ghana for the match against Medeama.
Al-Ahly is preparing to travel to Ghana to face Medeama on the upcoming Friday as part of the fifth round of matches in the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
Sports journalist Ahmed Shober disclosed that Modeste asked to travel to France immediately due to personal circumstances that require his urgent departure.
As for Mahmoud Kahraba, he requested to remain in Cairo and not to travel with Al-Ahly’s delegation to attend his sister’s celebration.
Shober added, “His sister means a lot to him, and he considers her the most important person in his life.”
Shober concluded, “The fate of Kahraba and Modeste is currently in the hands of Wessam Abu Ali and Percy Tau.
If the players are ready for the match against the Ghanaian champions, coach Marcel Koller may agree to let one of them stay, or he might take the risk and leave both Kahraba and Modeste.”
