Ahmed Hossam Awad, a member of the board of the football company at Al Ahly Club, shed light on the recent activities and decision-making processes undertaken by the club’s management in a recent interview with ON Time Sports channel.
Regarding the recent addition of Rida Slim to the team, Awad explained, “Rida Slim was a recommendation from the football company, and the coach welcomed the decision.”
He further clarified the situation with Imad Ashour, stating, “Since Imad Ashour traveled to Midtjylland, Amir Tawfik has been in contact with him.
This is in response to the confusion that suggested we had an agreement with the player before his departure.
The communication occurred after his journey, and we found a willingness from the player to join Al Ahly, relinquishing a significant portion of his contract with the Danish club to join the Red Devils.”
Awad elaborated on the club’s strategic approach, saying, “Al Ahly identified a technical need for Imad Ashour after President El-Khatib spoke with Koller.
He requested us to initiate negotiations with the player, and the discussions with Imad were straightforward.”
He added, “We secured the services of Imad Ashour for a substantial sum, addressing the team’s technical requirements.
As a professional management, we completed the deal to hold the coach accountable afterward.”
Touching on the potential transfer of Modeste, Awad clarified, “There is no direct communication between the company and Koller.
Mahmoud El-Khatib facilitates the communication.
Scouts always recommend players, and we, as a management team, evaluate the investment aspect.
We proposed many names, but Koller was the one who conceived the idea of signing Modeste.”
Speaking about the failed attempt to sign Brazilian Sosa, Awad stated, “His club backed out twice after reaching an initial agreement, and the matter came to a halt.”
Addressing the rumors about Mario Balotelli joining Ahly, Awad remarked, “All the talk about Ahly nearing a deal with him earlier is not accurate.”
Responding to offers for Aliou Diang, Awad commented, “Not yet.
We will consider it if a suitable offer arrives. Pre-official offers often involve certain procedures, and this is currently underway.”
On the interest in Omar Kamal from Future Club, Awad assured, “Any negotiation worldwide can either conclude optimally or encounter obstacles, but what I can tell the fans is that the management is working professionally.
Amir Tawfik always faces criticism, but he is a professional and reliable in his work, consistently meeting expectations.
This doesn’t mean the Omar Kamal deal failed; I am speaking generally. Any deal can be concluded or halted.
When it is official, we will announce it.”
Finally, Awad addressed the rumors surrounding the potential acquisition of Enppi’s striker, Oufa, stating, “Various names are frequently brought up.
It is natural that any player who performs well attracts consideration.”
He concluded, “Koller has not requested the release of Maaloul and El Solia.
In the coming days, we will renew Mohamed Hani’s contract, but the pressure of matches has delayed discussions with Ali Maaloul.”
