Cameroon has been selected to host the women’s AfroBasket tournament, following Tunisia’s designation to host the men’s edition. The decision was announced at the conclusion of the 5th ordinary session of the FIBA Africa central office.
Samuel Nduku, president of the Cameroon Basketball Federation, expressed his joy at the privilege granted to his country, stating, “We can only be happy with this privilege that has been granted to us. We will do everything to be up to the task.”
This marks the first time that Cameroon will organize the women’s AfroBasket tournament, which will be in its 24th edition. Angola has been designated as the second option in the event of Cameroon’s inability to host the tournament.
