Al-Ahly secured victory in the 2012 African Champions League by winning 2-1 against Esperance de Tunis, following a 1-1 draw in the first leg. Wael Gomaa, the Egyptian international defender for Al-Ahly, expressed confidence that his team could achieve success in Radès. He stated, “I am convinced that we can win the title in Tunis. There is nothing impossible in football, and we are capable of winning our seventh Champions League. We have forgotten the result of the first leg, and we will approach Saturday’s match as if it were a single-leg final.”
