Africa football transfer latest: Compaore begins Jordan challenge as Mandengue attracts Slavia Prague

Africafoot’s live football news feed on 6 August 2026 brings updates on the movements of African players, including a new club for Burkina Faso striker Bassirou Compaore, a first professional contract for Cameroon midfielder Philippe Didier Bibout and interest from Slavia Prague in Franco-Cameroonian defender Rayan Mandengue.

Compaore has joined Al Faisaly SC after becoming a free agent at the end of his spell with Struga Trim & Lum, who play in the North Macedonian top flight.

The 28-year-old Burkina Faso international has signed for the club competing in the Jordanian Pro League, moving to a new country as he looks to revive his career.

His arrival gives the Amman-based side a forward with international experience, while the move represents a fresh challenge for Compaore after his departure from Struga Trim & Lum. The terms and length of his contract have not been disclosed.

Westerlo hand Bibout first professional deal

Belgian club KVC Westerlo have confirmed the arrival of Cameroon midfielder Philippe Didier Bibout.

The 18-year-old has joined from Gambinos Stars Africa academy and has signed his first professional contract with the club. Westerlo announced the move on their official website.

Bibout now begins his professional career in Belgium after developing at the Gambinos Stars Africa academy. The club’s announcement confirms his move but does not include details of the contract’s duration.

Slavia Prague make offer for Mandengue

Slavia Prague have stepped up their interest in Rayan Mandengue by submitting an official offer to AJ Auxerre, according to Foot Mercato.

The Czech champions are pursuing the 20-year-old left-back, who is also being monitored by several Ligue 2 clubs. Mandengue remains under contract with AJ Auxerre until 2028.

He spent last season on loan at Quevilly-Rouen, where he produced four goals and four assists. That spell has increased attention around the defender, with Slavia Prague now making a formal approach for his services.

Mandengue’s market value is estimated at €400,000. No response from AJ Auxerre to Slavia Prague’s offer has been reported.

The three developments form part of Africafoot’s rolling coverage of transfer rumours, completed deals, records and other news involving African players. The updates include confirmed moves, such as Compaore’s switch to Al Faisaly SC and Bibout’s professional breakthrough at KVC Westerlo, as well as ongoing transfer interest in Mandengue.
