FC Kaiserslautern may soon see the departure of key player Afeez Aremu, despite holding onto star striker Ragnar Ache.
Sources indicate that the Nigerian midfielder could be heading to Russia, where the transfer window remains open until February 20, 2025.
After joining FCK in the summer of 2023, Aremu struggled in his first year but quickly became a vital part of the squad this season. However, his recent appearances have been limited, with a brief stint in the team’s last match in Münster.
Speaking on “Sky,” managing director Thomas Hengen revealed that deals are still in the works, hinting at a possible squad reshuffle. “There are still a few windows open. We are currently in the process of completing a deal on the tax page. We hope that this will take place today or tomorrow. And then I think I will have completed,” Hengen said.
While no specific Russian club has been named, Aremu’s imminent departure could soon be confirmed, signaling the end of his chapter with Kaiserslautern.
