Zambia coach Moses Sichone struck a calm and realistic tone after his side’s 0–0 draw with Comoros, acknowledging the difficulties they faced while stressing the value of the point earned.

He admitted the match did not unfold as he and his staff had planned, but accepted that such twists are part of football.

Sichone praised his players for battling through a physically demanding contest against a motivated Comoros side that pushed hard for a winner. At the same time, he recognised that Zambia struggled in key moments and could not fully impose their usual attacking rhythm.

“It was not easy against the Comoros team, and we did not expect things to unfold this way, but that is football. We are satisfied with the point we earned from the draw,” he said.

“Unfortunately, we did not play as we had expected, and we faced some difficulties. Our final match against Morocco will not be easy, as we will face the host nation, which has prepared well for the tournament and will be backed by a large crowd.”

Despite the challenge, Sichone remains hopeful that Zambia can rise to the occasion, build on their unbeaten start, and turn hard-earned draws into the victory they need to keep their AFCON 2025 dream alive.
