Morocco’s backup goalkeeper, El Mehdi Al Harrar, has disclosed that the plan of the team is to see off Cameroon in 90 minutes in their quarter-final clash in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the national team’s final training session on Thursday, he acknowledged that the clash against the Indomitable Lions will be tough.
However, he is confident that the Atlas Lions have enough quality to secure a victory and advance into the semi-finals.
“There are no easy matches in the Africa Cup of Nations. All matches are difficult, and all the opponents who qualified deserve to be here.
“We are preparing for this match very seriously, and we are determined to achieve qualification, God willing,” the Raja Casablanca goalkeeper said.
He continued, “We are preparing for all scenarios, and we hope to decide the match in 90 minutes, God willing. There is positive pressure, and thank God there is no negative pressure. We know what we have to do, and we know what we want from this competition, and we hope to live up to the fans’ expectations.”
The quarter-final encounter between Cameroon and Morocco is scheduled to kick off at 19:00GMT on Friday, January 9, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
