Nigeria international Igoh Ogbu says he and his teammates must fight for their families and friends in the crucial semi-final clash at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles takes on the Atlas Lions of Morocco at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah in a fierce encounter on Wednesday, with victory crucial to securing qualification to the finals of the tournament.

While Nigeria remain the only team to have secured victories in all five games at the tournament, the Atlas Lions has four wins and a draw.

“We have to fight against Morocco for our families and friends, and for all Nigerians. There is a lot of positive energy within the team and we have to stay focused.” He told reporters ahead of the match.

“We have to play against Morocco the way we played in the previous matches, and just do the same thing. There is nothing different. We just have to keep working hard.”

“Morocco’s players have high quality, but we are not focusing on that. We are focusing on our own strengths, not our weaknesses.”

Nigeria are poised to securing the title in the North African country, having last won the trophy in 2013.

The winner of the match is scheduled to face either Senegal or Egypt in the final of the continental showpiece, being held in Morocco.
